Aridai Cabrera is expected to join East Bengal as their second overseas signing for the 2022/23 season. The winger is in active discussions with the club. East Bengal has sent him a pre-contract offer.
East Bengal and Aridai Cabrera
Cabrera's signature is now pending at the club. If Cabrera joins East Bengal, the front line will be significantly strengthened. In the next few days, the club will witness a few more signings.
East Bengal has parted relations with its investors, Shree Cement Limited, and will shortly be bringing in new investors. They have signed Aditya Patra, Mahitosh Roy, Nabi Hussain Khan, Suryash Jaiswal, and Dip Saha, who is a former academy graduate. Mohammad Rakip and Ivan Gonzalez, two notable acquisitions, have already arrived.
They've sent out pre-contracts to several players across the country and are in the process of negotiating with a number of them. Last season, they finished at the bottom of the table. They are, however, seeking to construct a stronger group than they were last season.
About the Spaniard Player
In 2021, Aridai Cabrera joined Odisha FC of the Indian Super League. The 33-year-old made 17 appearances for the Juggernauts, scoring five goals. He had an assist to his name as well.
RCD Mallorca and their B squad, Girona, Betis B, CE L'Hospitalet, CE Sabadell, Huracan, Cultural Leonesa, and UD Las Palmas are among the clubs where the winger has played. Notably, he was also a member of Valencia's B side. In Spain, he made two La Liga appearances for RCD Mallorca.
In his career, Aridai Cabrera has appeared in 420 games, scoring 86 goals and assisting on 13 occasions. East Bengal, it can be argued, targeted the ideal player, one who is hungry to score as well as create opportunities for his teammates. On November 30th of last year, the winger scored a brace against the team he is about to join.
