Ex-boxer Tony Bellew has warned Jake Paul not to 'wake the f****** animal' following the YouTuber's latest jibe.
The two men have been involved in a heated war of words in recent months and Paul, the 5-0 fighter, continued their feud at the weigh-in for Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano.
Paul has been busy promoting the big fight this weekend alongside Hearn
In a discussion with Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn, who proposed a 'massive fight' with Bellew, Serrano's manager Paul asked 'who is he?'
Hearn explained that Bellew was a former cruiserweight world champion who starred in Creed - and Paul responded: "That's his claim to fame? He was in Creed?
"He was in Creed, he was in the back, the janitor in the background. I think I've heard that name (Bellew), I couldn't put a face to it, though."
Bellew was not about to take that level of disrespect from Paul.
The Evertonian posted a picture of him lifting the WBC title and defeating Paul's coach BJ Flores with a third-round stoppage in 2016.
He tweeted: "Just in case you needed to know what I look like Jake Paul, this is me!
Bellew hit back at Paul on Twitter
The Brit reminded Paul of his achievements in the sport
"The other is how ya coach got to know me! Creed was Pretty Ricky Conlan! What this is Tony BELLEW! Do not wake the f****** animal up that's been dead for years..."
Bellew has been retired since losing to Oleksandr Usyk in 2018, but the 39-year-old has raised speculation of a comeback by returning to the gym and getting into fearsome shape.
The feud between him and Paul began earlier this year, when the YouTuber boldly claimed he is 'carrying' boxing, with Bellew saying he would 'take his chin off'.
Bellew responded: "You couldn't carry the jockstrap of a proper BOXER son. Please rephrase point four!"
He added: "First of all, I've got no hate or malice towards Jake Paul, crack on, do what you're doing, it's great.
"But in no way shape or form can you claim to carry my sport you absolute f****** muppet, he hasn't even fought a boxer yet.
Could Paul tempt Bellew into a boxing comeback?
"So how can you claim to be carrying my sport when you haven't fought someone who comes from my sport? It's unbelievable.
"I don't wanna jump on the bandwagon that everyone does and just slate him.
"I don't like the fact it's labelled a boxing match because he's not facing a boxer."
