On Tuesday, March 29th, during a tour of the Vatican Museum in Rome, many Indiginous leader where startled by the amount of artifacts from accoss Canada.

Artifacts from Wapa belts, Cree beaded gloves and Kayaks from Inuit territores are being desplayed as part of the upcoming Anima Mundi exibit which is not yet open to the public.

Leaders of the Metis and Inuit delegation are calling for the return of many of these artifacts because many would grealty enrich the cultral heritage of Indiginous communities arcoss Canada.

Metis National Council Presidant Cassidy Caron expressed, "What they need to recognize is that they hold things of ours that tell our story." Caron also expressed, "These are our priceless cultural works and they need to come home."

There are an estimated 100,000 artifacts in the Vatican's collection. And as the Pope has issued an offical apology at the time, this article was written for the role the Church played in residental schools. A path of reconciliation has only begun.
