JASMIN Jao, the newest "Poster Girl" of local motocross, did it again, Jao finished a fighting third overall in the Dumaguete Teves Cup motocross championships held April 23-24 at the Teves MX Park in Barangay Balayagmanok, Bacong, Negros Oriental. Jao, the 24-year-old daughter of motocross legend Jolet Jao, put up a good fight to finish third behind Sharlet Gallarde and Pia Gabriel n the one-day competition organized by Ted Conde. "I'm satisfied with my performance in Dumaguete. I know there's still a lot of work to do to get better," said Jao, who is being supported by KYT Helmet, Motul, Shotrace Gear, Ride Manila, Mitas Tires, Motoclassy, GS Battery, Motovita, Boss Mkx,Teves Brothers, Potato Corner and Black Mamba Energy Drink. Jasmin's father, Jolet Jao, also did well and finished fourth in the centerpiece pro category. Jao, nicknamed "Mr. Excitement" during the 80s up to the 90s, finished behind Bebet dela Cruz and Glen Aguilar. Up next for the father and daughter tandem are the Montalban Motocross Championships on April 30-May 1 at the CCHFJ Motocross Park in Montalban, Rizal; and the Motul Motocross Series 2022 on May 7 at the Vermosa MX Track in Imus, Cavite.
