Being recruited to play the sport you love in college from high school is a hard thing to do in life no matter what division play it is.
Study shows that roughly over 7% of high school athletes get recruited out of high school to play in college, and less than 2% of athletes play NCAA Division 1.
On April 6, 13, and 20, Missouri Valley College is having basketball workouts where high school athletes can show their skills on the court, with a campus tour and a chance at a scholarship opportunity.
Coach Bobby Collins said the coaching staff is looking for some specific things in the athletes during these upcoming workout days.
"What we look for in players is a good leader on the court and off the court, being able to handle the ball well, being able to score, playing good defense, and giving 100% of their effort," Collins said.
These workouts will showcase athletes from all over the world to come down to Missouri Valley College and give it their all to earn themselves a scholarship for basketball.
The workouts will be held at the Burns gym and Valley students are allowed to watch the high school athletes for free, so come out and support your future Missouri Valley College athletes
