Arsenal are leading the race to sign Dutch star Cody Gakpo, according to reports in the Netherlands.
The 22-year-old winger is attracting interest from all over Europe with the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich also said to be keen.
Arsenal are leading the chase to sign Cody Gakpo
The PSV Eindhoven ace has enjoyed a wonderful season so far in the Eredivisie having scored 16 goals and provided 15 assists in 37 appearances - making the forward one of the continent's most exciting young players.
And, according to Voetbal International, Arsenal are 'in pole position' to sign Gakpo this summer.
With the Gunners firmly on track to secure Champions League football next term, it's claimed the north London club could be the player's most likely destination.
Gakpo is a long-term target for Mikel Arteta's side with Arsenal expressing an interest in signing him following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's exit, however the star was handed a new contract until 2026 to keep him at PSV.
However, there is an acceptance that the winger could move on before long, with the club's technical director, John de Jong, saying: "Gakpo will of course not stay in Eindhoven forever.
"He will go to a top club in a top league in the future. Or will that happen next summer? That's hard to say."
Arsenal are also plotting a move to sign Lautaro Martinez
With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both out of contract this summer, it's no surprise Arsenal are looking at attacking options, including Lautaro Martinez.
The Inter Milan star is attracting significant interest after the Italian giants set an asking price for the player of £59million.
According to reports from Calciomercato, Arsenal have already made contact about a move for the 24-year-old after they and rivals Tottenham attempted to sign the player last summer.
And it's claimed Inter are willing to let the player leave, with Simone Inzaghi's side already identifying Paulo Dybala as a potential replacement, with the Juventus star set to be out of contract this summer.
