"Its a hunk trash. It starts out fun, but then you get opponents who no matter what you do pull omni counters, negate card effects that are said not to be. Turns taking up to ten minutes because some meta head wants to be cool and otk you. Its fun at times, but duels in ranked need better rules and banlists. Or this game just belongs in your trashbin its that bad. Konami dropped the ball"

"Yu-Gi-Oh has changed and tbh its not so bad. I played back when it was all beat sticks and og cards and coming back ya its jarring at first but there are plenty of guides to learn. Also it isnt ptw if you watch a guide you basically get the pass and like 10k gems to build whatever deck if you lose it all it isnt the games fault if you mess up its not hard to try again on a new account"

So, there are some mixed reviews on Xbox but this is very much the case across the board on all platforms. Which is really the case across the board with all games. It is a free game, so it is worth checking out at least.

My Own Review

The game is rather polished right out the gate. That is always a nice thing for a free game. There is certainly a push for players to spend real money; however, that only makes sense for a free game. I would shy away from calling it pay to win, but there are minimal p2w elements present. The game plays very nicely on console and PC platforms. Competition is always fierce in Yu-Gi-Oh, often a player who has a bad start, bad draw, or who isn't quite ready at the start will have a very hard time winning a duel. That is Yu-Gi-Oh, not Master Duel per se. Overall, a very fun game for Yu-Gi-Oh fans and those trying to learn the game. I recommend.
