Manchester United fans will be able to swap their shirts with Mason Greenwood's name on for free.

Greenwood was released on bail on Wednesday after being questioned by police over the alleged rape and assault of a young woman.

The 20-year-old was arrested on Sunday after images and videos were posted online and while he was still in custody on Tuesday he was further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.

Greater Manchester Police have not named the footballer, but said: "A 20-year-old man arrested on Sunday, January 30, 2022 on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation."

Manchester United suspended Greenwood from playing or training with the club until further notice.

In a statement, the club said: "Manchester United reiterates its strong condemnation of violence of any kind.

"As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice."

Now The Sun report that the Red Devils will exchange shirts fans have bought free of charge.

Greenwood will also not be considered for England selection until any potential legal proceedings against the forward have come to an end, according to reports.

The Sun report that Gareth Southgate has taken a similar stance to United and he will not be considered for selection until any potential legal proceedings are completed.

The 20-year-old has not featured for England since being sent home from the Nations League squad in Iceland in 2020 when he and Man City's Phil Foden broke COVID-19 quarantine guidelines to meet two women in their team hotel.

Greenwood was also removed from active squads in FIFA 22.
