Robin Gosens is more inclined towards a move to Serie A champions Inter Milan over Newcastle United. The wing-back has offers from both clubs, but would want to stay in Italy rather than move to the Premier League in England.

Inter are in advanced talks with Atalanta to complete the signing, according to Fabrizio Romano. They are trying to wrap up the deal as soon as possible, and talks about the new contract will be held imminently.

Robin Gosens would snub Newcastle for Inter

The 27-year-old has a contract with Atalanta until June 2023, and will have to be sold in the summer if he doesn't move right now. Otherwise, Atalanta will run the risk of losing him on a free transfer next year.

Robin Gosens joined Atalanta in 2017 for a meagre €1 million from Dutch club Heracles. In his five years with La Dea, he has established himself as a key player in the team. He starred for Germany in their Euro 2020 campaign, and has earned 13 caps for the national team in total.

Gosens has been out of action for the last few months due to a hamstring injury, and it will be a while before we can see the German back in action, even if he makes the switch within the next few days.

Atalanta recently signed Jeremie Boga from Sassuolo, who operates on the left flank, and could be considered somewhat of a replacement for Gosens already. Further details about the transfer will be revealed in the days ahead.
