Manchester United are reportedly considering interim manager Ralf Rangnick for the full-time job at Old Trafford.
Rangnick was hired by the Red Devils to steady the ship at Old Trafford following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking in November.
Rangnick has impressed United's hierarchy during his interim spell in charge
The German was initially hired on an interim contract, until the end of the season, and would then go into a consultancy role at the club.
This was to allow time for United to asses their best options and appoint someone more permanently in the summer.
Among their top candidates are said to be Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino, Ajax's Erik ten Hag and Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers.
But The Sun report that United have put their hunt for a new boss 'on hold' after being impressed with the German so far.
There are signs the United dressing room is more united under Rangnick
Rangnick has won five of his eight games in charge so far, with just one defeat.
The performances on the pitch may not have sparkled, but Man United's hierarchy are said to be impressed with how he has dealt with some of the big egos at the club.
Most recently, he had to calm Cristiano Ronaldo down after the Portugal superstar threw a strop after being substituted against Brentford.
Rangnick has dealt with the egos at Old Trafford well
There is said to be a growing belief that Rangnick could be the right answer for them.
The 63-year-old would also be open to taking the job permanently.
He said previously: "Maybe if they ask my opinion and everything goes well and we develop the team I might even make the same recommendation to the board that I did at Leipzig twice when I recommended it might be a good idea to keep working with me for one year."
