The Tekken Philippines Facebook group is hosting a Tekken 7 charity tournament, called Tulong Tekken, that aims to raise money for those affected by Typhoon Rai (Odette).

Set to take place from January 8 to 9, 2022, all proceeded from Tulong Tekken will go directly to World Vision Philippines and its relief efforts for families affected by Odette in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

Funds will be raised mainly through the registration fee, which is set at Php 100 per player. However, the group has also opened donations for those who're unable to participate but would still like to donate.

Further details of the Tekken 7 charity tournament, including venue and whether or not it will be live-streamed have yet to be revealed. (Read: Fighting in the time of COVID: how the local fighting game community is facing down the pandemic)

World Vision International was founded in 1950 by Baptist minister Rev. Bob Pierce. According to their site, Pierce founded the organization after seeing the impact of various wars in China and Korea on children. While known as an evangelical organization, World Vision presents itself as interdenominational, employing staff from non-evangelical denominations.

The organization currently has a presence in over 90 countries, including the Philippines. Here it has an operational presence in 28 area programs, with more than 56,000 registered children in their sponsorship programs, in addition to 41 non-sponsorship projects.
