The Greeley Tribune on Friday, December 17 ran an article on the front page about Colorado (and specifically CDOT) enacting new rules to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

For the majority of Americans and Coloradans this is very good news as they are concerned about man made global warming from the burning of fossil fuels. The article reported about the push by CDOT for more electric vehicles in the state and shifting transportation spending to modes such as mass transit.

Although this may take some minor sacrifice by Coloradans, it is necessary to halt the dire consequences of climate change.  Would you rather be able to drive more now or have enough water and food for your families in the future?

This is the choice we are facing.

CDOT's new rules are a great first step to reduce carbon emissions.  The state and nation need to take a further step by passing legislation placing fees on carbon at its source.

This would help electrification of buildings and cars by shifting more energy production to renewable energy sources. The higher resulting energy costs would be offset by a return of the dividends to Americans.

Please support carbon fee legislation and let your U.S. Representatives and Senators to Support bills, such as HR2307. If you want more information, please check out the Citizens Climate Lobby website: https://citizensclimatelobby.org/
