Overview

Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Antón Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Their oppressive rule has ignited a revolution. Play as Dani Rojas, a local Yaran, as you fight alongside a modern-day guerrilla revolution to liberate Yara!

Fight against Castillo's regime in the most expansive Far Cry to date, through jungles, beaches, and Esperanza, the capital city of Yara.  Employ an arsenal of resolver weapons, backpacks, and vehicles to take down Castillo's ruthless regime.

Gameplay

Being somewhat of a fan of the series I will admit I was a bit hyped up when a review code for Far Cry 6 popped up in my inbox, having watched all the trailers released and seen plenty of gameplay footage I made my mind up that this was looking to be the best one yet of the series.

I wasn't wrong, the story is the most indepth and intense of the series so far and the game world is huge, almost seems never ending. Like the other Far Cry titles you have the main story but other storylines fracture off from that story making it more enjoyable as you go through. Even at the side of the road you can bump into a little side mission, there's literally always plenty to do.

You play as the main character, Dani Rojas a missionary with plenty to fight for as he joins up with the revolution to take the fight back to Castillo and his regime, as the story unfolds you go deeper and deeper into the revolution army taking out tasks such as taking control of key buildings or road blocks controlled by the regime.

Using your crafting tables and different skill sets you come across throughout the game you are able to craft new weapons as well as upgrading your existing ones using bits of scrap you find on your travels.

Each mission or challenge varies in difficulty and varies in rewards, you can be sent to take out a target or steal a vehicle from the regime or you can be sent to a compound full of soldiers in a Rambo style takedown, incidentally the latter of the examples is my favorite the all out carnage aspect is insanely good fun.

I personally found the story of Dani was deep and relatable at the same time making the game feel more authentic, I also personally loved the different challenges that appear every now and then, at the time of writing this review there is a special Danny Trejo event on which has you working alongside the film legend in different scenarios, being a big fan of his I found this a dream come true and enjoyed the challenges immensely.

The full game is playable in co-op mode online or in split screen which adds more depth to the gameplay and really keeps the game fresh as it would bring a different dynamic to the game.

Graphics and Sound

The graphics of Far Cry 6 are unrivaled in the quality, it literally looks like you're playing a film. The character animations are really good and make the game that bit more authentic. The game world is incredibly detailed with so much going on and with very little if any glitches.

The soundtrack to Far Cry 6 is just like most Ubisoft games, incredible I added the soundtrack album to my playlist straight away, Ubisoft definitely does have a habit of creating great soundtracks - soundtrack albums available on most music streaming sites. The in game sound effects are next level great sounding effects, the voice acting is amazingly good and authentic

Summary

To summarise my thoughts on Far Cry 6, a great looking game. So much on offer it's incredible how much detail has going into the game with some breathtaking graphics and deep immersive story line. I've heard mixed opinions online over the game but for me this is probably the strongest Far Cry so far and with the expansion stories from each of the previous bad guys (reviews are coming for those also) the game will only get better.

Verdict-Out of 5🌟

I give Far Cry 6 a solid full marks 5🌟 if I had more stars then I'd give them, personally found it a great experience that I will keep coming back to, definitely recommend picking this up.
