Everton and Liverpool supporters came together to applause Ava White after she was tragically killed.

Both clubs took to social media earlier in the day to ask both sets of fans to applaud and they duly obliged in the 12th minute.

Tributes were paid to Ava White, who was tragically killed

A picture of the 12-year-old was shown on the big screen at Goodison Park and the two sets of supporters were united in their tribute.

A banner that read 'no more knives in our city' was also on display in the stadium.

White's life was tragically taken away when she was attacked in Liverpool city centre at the weekend.

A 14-year-old boy, who has not been named for legal reasons, has been charged with murdering the 12-year-old.

Police said that Ava was involved in a 'verbal argument' which then escalated into 'an assault on her with a knife'.

White was taken to Alder Hey Children's hospital but sadly died a little while later.

A vigil is also set to be held on Saturday, December 4 on Church Street.
