On October 27th, Imane "Pokimane" Anys announced she was launching a talent management and brand consulting firm called RTS. Anys will serve as the organization's Chief Creative Officer with the goal of "fixing what is broken in both talent management and brand partnerships in the gaming and esports landscape."

"I keep seeing amazing creators that are doing wonders with their content and streams, but they don't have the support to grow their brand and business operations. They're spinning their wheels on basic stuff and taking a lot of frustrating partnership deals that don't work out for either party involved," said Anys. "I've gone through the wringer with these experiences, and we're building RTS to be able to provide the support, alleviate the workload, and solve this for creators, developers, and brands. My goal is to take my years of experience and make it accessible to newer creators so they don't need to go through the process I have endured."

Several other esports industry professionals will be joining the firm. Stuart Saw will serve as the CEO (Twitch and Endeavor), Kim Phan will be the COO (Blizzard), Sue Lee will be VP of talent management (Twitch), and Jason Scorrano's role is the vice president of sales and partnerships (PAX).

The Profit's Take:

I see this often, "let's create a fake problem and pretend we have the solution." The reality is that, literally, every other talent agency on the planet does the exact same thing that RTS does. There's nothing unique here. This is the most boring announcement of the past year. I thought she was going to launch her own car company based on the way she was hyping this up. It's literally just another cookie-cutter talent agency that nobody will be talking about two months from now. Pokimane is going to spend zero minutes working on this because she is fundamentally conflicted on this issue. She is not going to bring her best sponsors and brand supporters to other streamers. I find Pokimane increasingly disingenuous and not authentic at all. This feels very manufactured. I'm not saying that the company will fail, but I don't see this as an interesting business... at all! She's basically licensing her own name. Might as well make Pokimane steaks and bottled water while she's at it.
