Mohamed Salah, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jorginho, N'Golo Kante and Kevin De Bruyne the Premier League stars nominated for The Best FIFA men's player of the year awards.

They join a number of other elite names in the game, with Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski, Neymar and Erling Haaland also in the running to win the prize.

Salah and Ronaldo have had strong starts to the season and are unsurprisingly nominated for the award

Lewandowski is currently the holder of the award and the Bayern Munich and Poland striker could retain his title having had a phenomenal 2021 with 63 goals so far for club and country. He's just six away from matching Ronaldo's tally of 69 in 2013.

Many would find it difficult to look past the clinical forward but that isn't to say the remaining candidates don't have a chance. Salah has made an excellent start to the season, as has Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.

The list for manager of the year also didn't disappoint with several of the biggest names in the game being considered for the award.

Antonio Conte, now Spurs manager, is up for the award after the role he played in helping Inter Milan win their first league title since 2010.

Kante and Jorginho's manager Thomas Tuchel is another serious contender having helped Chelsea win the Champions League last season, as is Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Elsewhere, there are three Premier League stars up for the men's goalkeeper award, with Liverpool star Alisson, Chelsea's Edouard Mendy and Leicester man Kasper Schmeichel in contention. They join PSG and Italy glovesman Gianluigi Donnarumma and Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer in the nominations.

Lucy Bronze will defend her title for The Best women's player of the year award, having been nominated alongside Manchester City and England teammate Ellen White.

Also in contention are Arsenal hotshot Vivianne Miedema and Chelsea quartet Magdalena Eriksson, Pernille Harder, Ji So-yun and Sam Kerr.
