Throughout the 2021 season, the Las Vegas Raiders dealt with numerous obstacles. However, yesterday's 32-13 debacle versus the Bengals proves the team quite capable of hurting their own effort. From penalties to offensive ineptitude, Las Vegas continued to show they may not be ready for a playoff run. Furthermore, the game also showed why the interim tag could remain with Rich Bisaccia as he leaves town.

Carrfull of Excuses
When the Raiders started their journey with this quarterback in 2014, Derek Carr began to take ownership for the mounting losses. His candor, to some, appeared refreshing. Yet, after almost eight full seasons, those words feel hollow. The trite Carr phrase, " it's on me" looks rather interesting. Around him, the Raiders, in two different cities, rebuilt the roster around him. Yet, the results show a decent quarterback that loses more than he wins. Yesterday, Carr continued this trend with a subpar performance. The Raiders looked passive offensively again. That falls on Carr, who should maintain a sense of control of the offense. Now, being reckless isn't the move but neither is risk-averse schemes.
Defeated
In every aspect of the game, the Bengals humiliated the Raiders. A three-point lead felt insurmountable. While every yard appeared like a mammoth chore. On defense, the unit struggled with fatigue and to be honest, by not being talented enough in spots. Granted, Gus Bradley doesn't force players into his system the way Paul Guenther did. However, the unit lacks talent up the middle. The Bengals gashed Vegas for 159 yards.
Outlook
The Raiders face Dallas in two days. The team must realize they reside eleventh in the AFC playoff hunt. While they may not need to win out yet, that time arrives with another loss. This team doesn't look good enough to make the playoffs and make a run. The issues with the team never change. With that said, the changes must be profound and wide-ranging.
