Fort Lupton became just the fourth team this season to score against Jefferson Academy — scoring multiple times.
But, the Bluedevils couldn't quite slow down the talented Jaguars' offense in the second round of the Class 3A boys soccer playoffs.
Fort Lupton — seeded 17th in the 32-team bracket — fell 4-2 to top-seeded Jefferson Academy on Tuesday.
The Bluedevils wrapped up their season at 13-4. Fort Lupton came into the game having won nine of its previous 10 matches, including a 1-0 win in overtime against No. 16 STRIVE Prep — SMART in the first round of the playoffs Oct. 27.
The Jaguars advance to the quarterfinals, in which they will take on No. 8 Vail Mountain (10-5-2) at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Both of the Bluedevils' goals against Jefferson Academy came in the first half, as Fort Lupton took a 2-1 lead into halftime. The Jaguars caught fire with three unanswered goals in the second half.
