Richter Orthodontics opened the doors to its new digs, located at 6244 9th St. in Greeley, with a Fall Festival grand opening for the community on Saturday.

Complete with bales of hay, pumpkins, food trucks, a mobile hatchet-throwing trailer, mini horses, glitter and henna tattoos and a donut wall — yes, this was one time the orthodontist encouraged people to enjoy a sugary treat — community members were treated to a day of fun.

"Dr. Richter has been part of the community for over 20 years with this practice, and he just built this brand new building," marketing director Mandi Dyer said. "This is our grand opening to allow the community to come in and see our brand new building, meet our doctors and have some fun. This is kind of our next chapter."

Unlike outgrowing your favorite pair of jeans, letterman's jacket or even a house, when you're a business, outgrowing your space can mean a good thing.

Such is the case for Richter Orthodontics, which got too big for its britches and had to look for a larger location to better serve patients.

Owner of the practice, Dr. David Richter, set his sights on a plot of land at 6244 9th St. in Greeley and began building a new state-of-the-art office.

"I love it. It's amazing," Richter said about the finished building. "I was practicing next to the Farr Library, and I sold that to the people that owned this land. They were a husband-and-wife dental team, so they bought my space and I bought their land."

Despite wanting to be closer to the King Soopers on 10th Street, the new office still offers patients a central location with lots of parking.

"I wanted better visibility, so that is why I got this location," Richter said.

In addition to the new building, Richter has added two more orthodontists to the practice.

Attendees toured the building and were given free consults during the grand opening.

Taking care of the community's choppers is just one part of Richter's mission. The orthodontic office is quite active in the community, hosting the annual Dash-4-Hope 5K for suicide awareness, which raised $22,000 during its 2021 event, and participating in other community-centered activities.

The office's activeness within the community has resulted in Richter Orthodontics being nominated for The Best of Greeley contest eight years in a row.

"My purpose in growing my practice is to give back to the community," Richter said.

Richter Orthodontics accepts most dental insurance plans and offers financing options such as CareCredit and OrthoFi.
