Joker the movie is a great movie that has a compelling psychological drama.
What amazes me in this movie is how it made a villain become into a hero. Joker is a popular character that we all know from the Batman series; from there, we know how cruel he is and how destructive he is. However, instead of hating him, the audience even supports his actions like murder. The movie accomplishes this by making us, the audience, feel sympathy towards him.
The movie starts in the scene where Arthur is in a clown costume trying to make a living, but then a bunch of guys steal his sign and start punching and kicking Arthur to the ground. Not only that, Arthur is also blamed for missing the sign at his workplace, even though it was not his fault. The movie also introduces that the iconic laugh of Joker that we all know is a disorder for Arthur; again, it makes us feel sadder for him. Throughout the movie, stacks of unfortunate events started happening to Arthur. That's where we started to see how unfair the world was to Arthur. That is why when Arthur finally begins to fight back, like in the train scene where he killed three guys, we as the audience started to cheer for him. From there the movie started to show many evil acts as Arthur starts to become the Joker.
Overall, the movie has a great psychological drama. And even though Arthur did many evil actions, we as the audience saw that all his actions are justified because he is only repaying them for being unfair and cruel.
