Northridge, Windsor Charter compete in Pat Amato Classic, in Northglenn: Northridge's boys placed 22nd (623 points) at the talent-laden Pat Amato Classic at Open Spaces Park XC Course. Windsor Charter Academy's boys finished 28th (803). Neither program scored in the girls team standings. Los Alamos (N.M.) won the boys team title with 39 points. Cherry Creek (39) won the girls team title. Senior Dominic Hess led Northridge's boys, placing 82nd (18:35.97). Sophomore Jackson Dumm paced Windsor Charter's boys, finishing 140th (20:10.86). Northridge junior Carsyn Petersen placed 122nd (23:28.87) in the girls race. Windsor Charter sophomore Gia Sharma was 134th (24:00.05) in the girls race.

Windsor 49, Greeley West 7, in Windsor: Windsor had no problem picking up its first Class 4A Northern 1 win, improving to 3-4 overall, 1-1 in conference play. The Wizards scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters. Windsor ran for 393 yards on 39 carries with junior Jaden Thomas leading the way with 108 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries. Wizards senior Dax Polka added four touchdowns and 62 yards on 11 carries. Windsor improved to 3-4 overall, 1-1 in 4A Northern 1 play. Greeley West fell to 0-7, 0-2.
Roosevelt 37, Mead 7, in Johnstown: In a match-anticipated game between perhaps the two top teams in 3A, Roosevelt shook off a Mead touchdown on the first drive of the game and completely dominated from there. The Rough Riders are ranked first in 3A. The Mavericks came into the game ranked second in 3A by CHSAANow.com but have since dropped to fourth. Roosevelt senior quarterback Brock Saya competed 17 of 21 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns. Fellow senior Keaton Kaiser caught five passes for 110 yards. The Rough Riders ran for 170 yards on 30 carries, led by sophomore Xavier Ramirez, who carried the ball 11 times for 68 yards and a touchdown. Roosevelt improved to 6-0 with its final nonconference game.

Weld Central 14, Fort Lupton 6, in Keenesburg: Weld Central jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead and held that lead with air-tight defense the entire game. Fort Lupton had just 160 total yards of offense, including 104 on the ground. The Rebels improved to 2-3-1 overall, 1-1 in 2A Patriot League East play. The Bluedevils fell to 1-5, 0-2.
Severance 40, Berthoud 0, in Berthoud: Severance stayed unbeaten on the season, improving to 6-0 overall, 2-0 in the 2A Patriot League West. The Silver Knights recorded 142 passing yards and 186 rushing yards. Senior Jake Shorb led the way on the ground with 111 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries. Fellow senior Trevin Hull caught five passes for 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Severance's defense had five sacks for a loss of 33 yards. It also snagged four interceptions and recovered two fumbles.
University 41, The Academy 28, in Westminster: University engineered a big comeback, erasing an early 12-0 deficit. The Bulldogs turned around the game by outscoring The Academy 14-0 in the third quarter. University senior quarterback Greg Garza completed 15 of 22 passes for 250 yards and four touchdowns. He also led the Bulldogs in rushing with 44 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Senior receiver Kanon Padilla had a monstrous game, catching nine passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns. University improved to 4-2 overall, 1-1 in 2A Patriot League West play.
Platte Valley 42, Sterling 12, in Kersey: Platte Valley engineered its best offensive performance of the season to improve to 3-3 overall, 1-1 in 2A Patriot League East play. The Broncos were in complete control after going up 21 in the first quarter and 35-0 in the second.

Longmont 51, Greeley Central 14, in Longmont: Longmont put the game away in the first quarter, going up 30-0. The Trojans passed for 306 yards. Greeley Central fell to 1-6 overall, 0-2 in 4A Northern 2 play.
Fleming 54, Briggsdale 21, in Fleming: Briggsdale lost its second consecutive game against upper-tier competition, falling to 5-2 overall, 3-2 in 1A 6-man North Conference play. Fleming is ranked third in 6-man by CHSAANow.com.
Brush 61, Valley 16, in Brush: Brush's offense was on fire from the get-go, as the Beetdiggers went up 28-6 in the first quarter and 48-6 by halftime. Senior Colin Brosh had more than half of Valley's total yards, carrying the ball 17 times for 104 yards. He also caught two passes for 12 yards. The Vikings fell to 1-5 overall, 1-1 in 2A Patriot League East play.
Softball
Severance 12, Platte Valley 0, 4 inn., in Severance: Platte Valley wrapped up its season, while Severance notched a big nonleague win heading into the postseason. Silver Knights star senior pitcher Natalia Puchino threw a perfect game, striking out 11 of the 12 batters she faced. This was her second perfect game of the season. Senior Kassidy Lines and junior Randi Mitchell led Severance with two hits and three RBI apiece. Platte Valley wrapped up its season at 2-20-1. The Silver Knights improved to 15-8 and will be the 21st seed in the 32-team 4A postseason. They will face No. 12 Northfield at 10 a.m. Saturday in the first round of the Region 3 tournament at Paintbrush Park in Castle Rock.

Greeley West 15, Centaurus 0, 3 inn., in Greeley: Greeley West wrapped up its season with a dominant win to secure a winning record, 12-11 overall, 5-5 in 4A Northern Colorado Athletic Conference play. After a scoreless first inning, the Spartans assumed control with 10 runs in the bottom of the second inning. Senior Helena Rangel, sophomore Nathali Mendoza, senior Brookelynn Hernandez and senior Emily Dorame each had a hit for the Spartans. Mendoza, Rangel, Hernandez and freshman Lucy Stenner-Roy each scored two runs. Greeley West's freshman pitcher Ellyse Hydock allowed just one hit, striking out six and walking one in three shutout innings. This is the Spartans' first winning season since 2014. They went 5-11 a season ago.
Girls volleyball
Briggsdale 3, Fleming 2, in Fleming: Briggsdale lost for just the third time this season, falling to 13-3 overall, 5-1 in 1A North Central play. The Falcons came into the match ranked first in 1A by CHSAANow.com, while Fleming entered the match ranked second. The Wildcats improved to 12-3, 5-1. Briggsdale defeated Fleming 3-0 earlier in the season.

Cross country
Windsor youngsters shine at conference meet, in Lyons: Windsor had numerous impressive finishes from a few of its many youthful athletes during the 4A Northern Colorado Athletic Conference Championships. In the boys race, Wizards freshman Cole Mazurana placed eighth in 17:15.20. Longmont senior Connor McCormick won the race in 16:15.50. Windsor freshman Delaney Kintz placed 10th (21:33.70), and freshman Maggie Bush was 12th (21:45.40) in the girls race. Centaurus senior Maggie McCleskey won the girls race in 19:30.60. Mead won the boys team title with 46 points. Windsor was seventh (209), Greeley Central placed eighth (246), and Greeley West finished 10th (280). Silver Creek won the girls team title with 51 points. Windsor was fifth (103), and Greeley West placed eighth (257).
Weld Central competes in Windjammer Invitational, in Englewood: Weld Central sophomore Isiah Deane placed 108th (20:24) in the boys race at the Windjammer Invitational, hosted by Englewood High School. Junior Brianna Holley was the Rebels' highest placing girls runner, finishing 54th (24:04).

Eaton 10, Resurrection Christian 6, in Eaton: Defending 2A champion Eaton prevailed in a marquee defensive battle between two of the top teams in 2A. The Reds are ranked first in 1A by CHSAANow.com. Resurrection Christian came into the game ranked second but has since slipped to third. Senior Ryan Dirksen led Eaton with 83 rushing yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Resurrection Christian senior Cade Dunlap had 90 yards on 21 carries. The Reds came up with some clutch defensive plays, including a fumble recovery early in the fourth quarter on what would have been a go-ahead touchdown for the Cougars. Eaton improved to 6-0 overall, 2-0 in 2A Patriot League West play. Resurrection Christian dropped to 4-1, 1-1.
Dayspring Christian 56, Denver Christian 20, in Greeley: Dayspring got off to an emphatic start, going up 24-0 in the first quarter and 44-0 in the second. The Eagles ran for 353 yards on 22 carries, led by senior Wyatt Eichman, who had 92 yards and two touchdowns on three carries, and junior Zach Freeman, who carried the ball three times for 88 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore Caleb Kayl added 72 yards and two touchdowns on four carries. Dayspring senior quarterback Garrett Krehbiel completed 3 for 5 passes for 68 yards and three touchdowns. The Eagles improved to 5-2 overall, 3-1 in 1A 8-man Plains League play.

Highland 15, Flatirons Academy 8, in Ault: Highland's defense and its running game were clicking in this league win. The Huskies ran for 248 yards, led by senior quarterback Sam Hzindil, who carried the ball 19 times for 117 yards and a touchdown. He also completed 6 of 14 passes for 65 yards. Highland improved to 4-3 overall, 1-1 in 1A Northern Conference play.
North Park 63, Pawnee 0, in Walden: Pawnee was playing catch-up from the get-go, falling behind 22-0 after one quarter and 50-0 by halftime. The Coyotes dropped to 0-5 overall, 0-5 in 1A 6-man North Conference play.
Softball
Fort Lupton 16, Valley 2, 4 inn., in Fort Lupton: In both teams' regular season finales, Fort Lupton jumped out to a 15-0 lead by the second inning. Each team recorded just four hits, but Valley was plagued by nine errors — compared to just two for the Bluedevils. Fort Lupton improved to 15-8 with the nonleague win. The Vikings fell to 8-15. Valley, seeded 20th out of 32 postseason teams, will play in the Region 3 tournament this weekend in Sterling, opening against No. 13 Weld Central. Fort Lupton, seeded 10th, will open its campaign in the Region 6 tournament against No. 23 Delta in Limon.
Girls volleyball
Roosevelt racks up wins at Greeley West Invite, in Greeley: Roosevelt went 3-1 at the Greeley West Invitational, defeating Loveland, Greeley West and Weld Central, while losing to Denver East. The Rough Riders improved to 9-7.
Vail Mountain 3, Highland 0, in Vail: Highland suffered its third consecutive defeat, losing 25-19, 25-13, 25-12. The Huskies fell to 8-7 overall, 6-3 in 3A/2A/1A Mile High League play.
Weld Central goes 1-3 at Greeley West Invite, in Greeley: In the Greeley West Invitational, Weld Central defeated host Greeley West 2-0 but lost 2-0 to Loveland, Roosevelt and Fort Morgan. The Rebels dropped to 7-9 overall.
