Former light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones has recently been arrested again. The stories are not yet totally understood; however, the pieces are coming together. What is known is that Jones was inducted into the UFC hall of fame on September 24, 2021. On this night Jones returned to his hotel room where his wife and child were staying. Jones took $10,000 and hit the casino, returning later that night around 5am. His wife, covered in blood, reported to the hotel manager she was wanted a new key for her room. When asked about the blood she insisted it was from the dryness of the desert. Police were called and found Jones leaving through the back door where they arrested him.

This is interesting because it is not the first run in with the law Jones has had. In March 2020 he was arrested for the public discharge of a fire arm and DUI. The former light heavyweight champion is arguably one of, if not the, greatest fighters to ever compete, with a record of 26-1-0 and the only loss coming from disqualification. Questions remain of why is he just throwing away a career and reputation that he worked so hard to create.

Jones, however, is not the first to have been brought up on charges. Fighters War MachineNick DiazRampage Jackson, and even Conor McGregor have all been arrested and usually charged with serious crimes.

Domestic violence and multiple arrests is nothing new throughout the UFC roster and other sports such as football. Many of these guys create greatness within their respected sport and it appears that they then feel untouchable by anything in the outside world.
