The Department of Health on Wednesday reported 7,181 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest since August 4.

In its latest case bulletin, the agency said the figure pushed the number of active cases to 82,411 and the overall tally to 2.690 million.

Of the active cases, about 75.3 percent are mild, 12.1 percent are asymptomatic, 1.6 percent are critical, 3.7 percent are severe, and 7.25 percent are moderate.

The DOH also reported 6,889 new recoveries, bringing the country's total number of recovered cases to 2.690 million.

Meanwhile, the death toll reached 40,069 after 173 new deaths were recorded.

According to DOH data on Oct. 11, about 14.2 percent of 40,323 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

"About 98 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, 61 are recoveries," it added.

All laboratories were operational on October 11 while two laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

The DOH noted the non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 1.9 percent of samples tested, and 0.9 percent of positive individuals based on data in the last 14 days.

To date, 67 percent of 4,400 intensive care unit beds, 52 percent of 21,100 isolation beds, 52 percent of 15,100 ward beds, and 49 percent of 3,200 ventilators are utilized by patients with Covid-19 nationwide.

Meanwhile, 65 percent of 1,500 intensive care unit beds, 44 percent of 4,900 isolation beds, 48 percent of 4,300 ward beds, and 50 percent of 1,100 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are in use in the National Capital Region.
