The Colorado State Rams were picked to win the Mountain West men's basketball regular season title in a media poll released Wednesday morning.

The Rams garnered 11 of the 20 first-place votes by media members who cover the conference and totaled 207 points to edge out San Diego State for the top spot. It's the first time CSU has finished No. 1 in the annual vote.

SDSU received seven first-place votes and a total of 201 points, followed by Nevada with 189 points and two first-place votes. Air Force came in last in the Mountain West vote with 23 points.

The Rams are in their fourth season under head coach Niko Medved and are coming off back-to-back seasons of 20 wins for the first time since the 2011-13 seasons. CSU finished fourth in the NIT last season.

Earlier this week, CSU received votes in the Associated Press preseason poll, coming in tied for 36th on the list.
