Greeley police are investigating a disturbance after two Greeley West High School students assaulted another student in a King Soopers, which drew a crowd of more than 100 other students, according to police.
About 11:39 a.m. Tuesday, several officers responded to a report of a large disturbance involving Greeley West students at King Soopers, 2100 35th Ave. Originally, the call described 200 students involved in a riot inside the store.
Upon arrival, officers found more than 100 students present, but they all dispersed when police arrived.
After further investigation, officers discovered two unknown high school students jumped another student inside the grocery store. Other students gathered around to watch the fight.
The Greeley West resource officer, who responded to the scene, is looking into the assault and the unknown juvenile suspects. The victim of the assault was injured, but refused medical attention on the scene. The victim's parents arrived to pick the student up after the incident.
