WHAT'S the latest in chess, handball and pole vault?
     The answers will be known today when the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) holds the 119th episode of the "Usapang Sports on Air" via Zoom.
     WGM Janelle Mae Frayna and National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) chief operating officer GM Jayson Gonzales will discuss the controversial disqualification of the 12-player Filipino team in the 2021 FIDE Online Chess Olympiad due to "violation of fair play policy."
     Philippine Handball Federation secretary-general Dr. Ernesto Jay Adalem will talk about the plans to promote the popular team sports and the challenges facing the athletes during the pandemic.
     And two-time Southeast Asian Games pole vault medalist Emerson Obiena will give an update on the training and competition schedule of his son, EJ Obiena, after the Tokyo Olympics.
     TOPS president Ed Andaya of People's Tonight is inviting all officers and members and friends in the sports community to join the weekly sports forum sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
     TOPS is composed of editors, columnists, reporters and photographers of the country's leading national tabloids and friends from different social media groups.
     This is the 119th episode of the TOPS "Usapang Sports" since its formal launch at the National Press Club in 2018 and its 61st edition since turning to a new platform due to the pandemic.
