Whatever plans you have this weekend, cancel them immediately - unless they're directly related to the blockbuster sporting action ahead.

Weekends like these don't come round often, with plenty of box office action happening across a range of sports.

There's something for all sports fans this weekend

The Premier League makes a return on Saturday with a number of fascinating contests ahead, including the basement battle between Arsenal and Norwich, which is live on talkSPORT 2, kick-off 3pm.

Our first commentary of the day sees Crystal Palace take on Tottenham at 12:30pm, live on talkSPORT. Palace are of course managed by former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira so the Selhurst Park clash has added spice to it.

But the world will have its eyes on Old Trafford at 3pm as Manchester United take on Newcastle in a match that should see Cristiano Ronaldo make his second debut for the Red Devils.

Ronaldo has re-joined Man United 12 years on from when he left them to join Real Madrid. He's back again and this match could well be the beginning of something special for the 13-time Premier League winners this season.

Is Ronaldo Man United's missing piece of the puzzle?

Adrian Durham is at Old Trafford for GameDay Live so talkSPORT will be bang across the action. talkSPORT will also provide you with updates online and on social media.

Later on Saturday, attentions will turn across the pond for women's singles final at the US Open.

There's British interest in New York as teen sensation Emma Raducanu takes on Canadian Leylah Fernandez at around 9pm UK time.

Raducanu, 18, has already defied the odds in Flushing Meadows having become the first qualifier of the tournament to make it to the final in the Open era.

What's more impressive is that Raducanu is yet to drop a set throughout her campaign - her most recent outing a 6-1 6-4 win over 17th seed Maria Sakkari. She's now just one win away from making history.

Raducanu could become the first British woman to win a Grand Slam since Virginia Wade in 1977

As we discover who is the 2021 women's singles US Open champion, the Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort undercard will begin.

The showpiece event, taking place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida, sees the former heavyweight world champion step in for Oscar De La Hoya, who was due to take on the former UFC light heavyweight champion.

Ring walks for the main event are set to start at around 3am on Sunday morning and there will be a very special guest helping out with the commentary in former US president Donald Trump.

His claims that he believes he could knock out current US president Joe Biden firmly suggests Trump will not be holding back one bit!

Trump was in typically outspoken mood at the fight's press conference and don't be surprised if he is during the fight

And more action in America as this weekend marks the beginning of the new NFL season.

It has already started with Superbowl winners Tampa Bay Buccaneers edging past the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.

But the main block of fixtures are of course on Sunday and you can keep track of all the action from 5pm on talkSPORT 2 with our NFL Show.

Bucs quarter-back Tom Brady has won the Super Bowl SEVEN times - no team has more than six victories
