Fans of The Bricktop Grill, 808 22nd St. in Greeley, will be happy to learn that the popular little restaurant is reopening on Saturday after the owners came down with a case of COVID-19.
"Me and my whole family were hit by the COVID virus about three weeks ago," owner Henry Kelsey explained. "To be on the safe side, I shut down The Bricktop Grill because we all needed to get better and I didn't want to spread anything to my customers."
While shutdown, Kelsey hired a professional team of cleaners to come in and sanitize the entire restaurant inside and out, from top to bottom including tables, chairs, counter tops, equipment and floors.
The family friendly eatery serves a variety of fare including pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, finger foods and more.
If you thought Kelsey's menu was vast before the closure, he's expanded it even more with some new offerings.
While in quarantine and recovering from the virus, Kelsey and his team of family members worked on some new menu items for customers to try.
During the shutdown, Kelsey kept in touch with his customers over social media, asking them their thoughts on his ideas for new menu additions, taking suggestions and inquiring what customers would like to see added to the restaurant's menu.
His post-COVID-19 list of new menu items includes:
- Mama's Salad — shredded lettuce topped with tomato, onion, baked chicken, Teriyaki sauce, shredded cheese, black olives and pineapple.
- All 4 One — a hamburger with double cheese, pulled pork, sautéed onions and topped with homemade barbecue sauce and coleslaw.
- Grinder — a sub sandwich with pepperoni, capocollo, salami, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers and slathered with a deli dressing.
- Meatball sub — Italian-style meatballs in a savory marinara sauce and topped with your choice of cheese.
- Chicken sandwich — crispy chicken strips plain or tossed in homemade barbecue sauce or buffalo sauce and topped with lettuce, onion, tomato and your choice of cheese.
- Mac and cheese pizza — a pizza crust coated with garlic butter and topped with cheese, macaroni and cheese and more cheese.
In addition to the above menu items, Kelsey will be adding a soup of the day, which will be a perfect comfort item for those cold Colorado fall and winter days.
Kelsey said he's excited to get back into the kitchen to serve his loyal customers and it looking forward to visiting with people again.
The restaurant will open on Saturday at 11 a.m. and operate until 10 p.m. Their regular operating hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and closed on Sunday.
