Connections for Independent Living has launched a new page with information about COVID-19, the vaccines available and additional resources to help people make decisions about their health.

The organization created the page to combat misinformation and provide access to accurate information about the ongoing pandemic.

Connections, which helps disabled people live independently, said in a release that it recognizes its clients can be adversely affected by COVID-19 and need accurate information.

"There is an abundance of information about vaccines, our only wish is that those with disabilities and deaf and hard of hearing community members are given equitable access to all of the information we get daily," Connections Executive Director and CEO Rochelle Mitchell-Miller said in an announcement about the website.

The staff at Connections can help residents with disabilities arrange free transportation to a vaccine appointment, provide free American Sign Language interpretation, large print pamphlets and more. It also can help people find organizations to provide in-person services, if they are unable to leave their home.

Additionally, Connections created a video about COVID, vaccines and how to schedule vaccinations using ASL.

More information about the organization and coronavirus resources is available online at ConnectionsColorado.org.
