Teenager Jobe Bellingham was included in Birmingham's matchday squad for their Carabao Cup first round clash against Colchester on Tuesday evening.

Bellingham, brother of Borussia Dortmund and England star Jude, will be out to emulate his sibling's achievements at St Andrew's.

And first of all he could surpass Jude's record of becoming the club's youngest-ever first-team player (16 years, 38 days), should manager Lee Bowyer call on him from the bench.

That record has stood for just two years so far, when Pep Clotet started Jude in the same competition at Portsmouth.

But it could soon be broken with Bellingham Jr incredibly still only 15 - underlining the potential the England Under-16 midfielder possesses.

Jude couldn't be happy for his younger brother though, tweeting a picture of Jobe's no.39 shirt before kick off, accompanied with the message: "Happiest I've ever been!

Jude took to Twitter to express his delight after his 15-year-old brother was named in Birmingham's first-team squad
The brothers are very close

"Enjoy every second of the experience, dreams come true."

Bowyer has made 11 changes to the side which beat Sheffield United in their Championship opener on Saturday evening.

Young pair Marcel Oakley and Nico Gordon also get the nod, while George Friend, Ivan Sunjic, Ivan Sanchez, Jordan Graham and Chuks Aneke were among the starting XI.
