The city of Evans' Heritage Days — the city's signature celebration — will return next month for the first time in more than 736 days, according to the city.

Heritage Days will be held Friday and Saturday Sept. 17-18 at Riverside Park and City Park in Evans. Admission is free.

In 2019, the city celebrated Heritage Days and its 150th anniversary. The 2020 festival was cancelled because of COVID-19.

"It's been far too long, but this is great for the community," Evans Mayor Brian Rudy said in a city-issued news release. "We've been apart because of health precautions, but now we're able to reunite and celebrate our city's traditions at Heritage Days."

The two-day celebration is sponsored sponsored in-part by Rival Services and PDC Energy. The weekend begins at 4 p.m. Sept. 17 with live music, delicious food trucks, a beer garden, games for kids, and a variety of family-friendly activities. The evening will be capped by a fireworks shows from JBS at 8:45 p.m..

On Saturday morning, the annual pancake breakfast provided by the Evans Fire Protection District will be held in City Park. There will be live music and the community parade with bands from Greeley-Evans School District 6 and representation by other organizations and agencies including the Evans Police Department.
