[New post] Chelsea academy graduate Tino Livramento’s Southampton bow labelled ‘one of the best young debuts’ despite Premier League defeat at Everton

There's cause for Southampton fans to feel optimistic despite their defeat to Everton in the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
Saints were beaten 3-1 by the Toffees, however, one of their new signings gave a very good account of himself at Goodison Park.
Tino Livramento can be very proud of his performance
Tino Livramento, who was previously a star of Chelsea's famed Cobham academy, produced a display mature beyond his 18 years.
He kept Richarlison quiet as Southampton went in 1-0 up at half time thanks to Adam Armstrong's strike.
And Livramento's first-half display had talkSPORT's Perry Groves waxing lyrical at the break.
Groves said on commentary for talkSPORT 2: "He looks a player, Livramento.
Livramento joined Saints from Chelsea for a reported fee of £5million
"He looks very composed on the ball but sometimes full-backs lose concentration and his positional play has been absolutely outstanding.
"It looked like he might have had an overload with Richarlison inside him and Lucas Digne outside him but he just stayed in between.
"I know it sounds very simple but a lot of young full-backs would follow Richarlison in but he stayed in between them and made sure that basically he marked space.
"I know it's only one 45 minutes but for a young man only making his debut in the Premier League, he's been absolutely outstanding."
Groves was particularly impressed by the way Livramento dealt with Richarlison (right)
Commentator Ian Danter said: "You can see why Chelsea had him as their academy player of the year last year. He doesn't look like a standard right-back as he's quite tall but is so, so good on the ball.
"He's got this ability to change the pace when he's got possession, he looks like he's just jockeying with the ball."
Groves then added: "He stands people up. He's playing against Richarlison, a proven Premier League player, and his positional play has been outstanding.
"It's been one of the best young debuts that I've seen."
Livramento was a shining light on a disappointing day for Saints
Livramento had a good second half but his new side didn't as goals from Richarlison, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dominic Calvert-Lewin saw Everton get the three points.
Richarlison's goal wasn't Livramento's fault, the Brazilian fired in as he took advantage of hesitant defending by Mohammed Salisu.
The defeat will have Southampton fans fearing about relegation this season but it looks set to be a fantastic campaign for their new acquisition.
