Aug. 20-22, 2021, will be an action-packed weekend at the Yuma County Fairgrounds.

The Turn 'n Burn For The Cure barrel race will be the first event of the weekend. There will be a 4D barrel race on Friday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. withexhibitions starting at 4 pm. Entries will open at 3 p.m. and are $35 with $100 added to the pot. Pre-entries will be taken on the TWP (True West Productions)Facebook page starting Aug. 11. If there are more than 75 pre-entries by Aug. 18 for the open on Saturday another $500 will be added to the pot! Entries will also be taken on-site.

The day begins on Saturday, Aug. 21 with donuts provided at a= cowboy/cowgirl church service starting at 8:30 am in the grandstands which is free of charge and open to everyone! Exhibitions will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m., open riding until noon, the TEAM OF THREE AUCTION at 12:30 pm followed by the open 4D barrel race (5D if over 150 entries) at 1:30, and the last race of the day is a youth 3D barrel race.

Entry fees for the open barrel race are $45, the youth are $20, and there is a processing fee of $10 per person per day or $15 for the weekend. $2000 will be added to the open race pot ($2500 with 75+ pre-entries) courtesy of Unique Water Concepts!!! The entry fees for the Team of 3 events, which is a side pot to run for awesome awards, are $30 per open team and $15 for the youth teams. The day concludes with an awards ceremony. There are awards for the top 10 open teams, the top 5 youth teams, and the top 10 buyers in the Team of Three auction! Concessions will be available on the grounds provided by Hospice of the Plains and the Yuma County Fair Queens throughout the weekend.

Aug. 22 will be the Dan Kirchenschlager Memorial Team Roping. Entries will be taken on-site and they open at 10 a.m., close at 12:30 p.m. sharp, and the roping starts at 1 p.m. It will be a #12 slide 1.5 roping. Ropers may pick one draw one or draw two. There is no limit on how many times you may enter and entry fees are $70.

All events for the weekend are cash only!

The barrel racing proceeds will be split between Hospice of the Plains and Angels for Life in the Plains. The team roping supports Hope and Help forHealing and that organization donates money to the Yuma and Wray ER departments to help patients and their families who are faced with unforeseen true emergent financial events that they may not be prepared for.
