The Melbourne-built Monaro is a 3-owner car, delivered new to the buyer up on the Murray. The Monaro, in Silver Mink with a black interior, sold to a buyer in Queensland in who in turn sold the car to its last owner in 1998.

The Monaro went back to Melbourne before a voyage to the UK later in 1998 Fully registered on UK plates, the Holden was babied, and rarely driven. It was

The Monaro got a makeover in 2013 including a colour change to Warwick Yellow. This colour was the 'hero' colour of the 1968 Bathurst winner. During the makeover, the old four-speed Saginaw gearbox was changed out for a modern five-speed Tremec transmission and extractors. For those wanting the originals, the owner kept the original exhaust manifold.

After the refurbishment, the car saw 8 years of gentle driving before coming back to Australia for sale at Shannons.

The paint job is in great condition and will be offered with 'no reserve', but is expected to be in the $180,000-$240,000 range.

Falcon XW GT-HO Phase 2

Next off the line is a Falcon XW GT-HO Phase 2 that spent 30 with 1 owner and has 79,000 miles on the clock.

The car has been verified in writing by Ford Australia, and is backed by the Deluxe ACCHS report supplied with the car. The gorgeous XW Falcon GT-HO  Phase II was one of only 44 cars built in Diamond White. It was one of two Phase IIs sold through Byrne Ford of Chermside, QLD.

This Ford originally was owned by a roads and pavement contractor from Brisbane, who was going to race the car,  but took a Valiant instead, after the Ford was damaged by a mechanic. Lucky us.

The next owner bought it from a car yard in Moorooka in late 1972. The buyer  had the Ford rebuilt by Bryan Byrt Ford's Race Division.  During that rebuild, it was updated with Phase III headers, mufflers and a set of 15-inch Globe alloys.

The XW ran a 14.5 second quarter mile at the Surfers Paradise drag races, to before it sold to the vender in 2002 with 72,000 miles the clock.

The GT-HO received another refurbisment, with a'Brambles Red' paint job, its upholstery redone and a new set of 5-slot rims with wheel trims and caps.

GT-HO Phase II models are rare enough, but this is a well-known car in GT circles and is go for around $350,000-$450,000 range.

1968 Shelby GT500 coupe

Equally desirable is the 1968 Shelby GT500 coupe in the rare optional factory colour of Raven Black. It is fully documented by the Shelby American Registry too.

When new, the car was in Acapulco Blue 1968 GT500 with four-speed manual transmission (build number 01408). It came with factory options such Selectaire air conditioning, an AM radio and tinted glass.

The first owner was an American Serviceman in New York City. He was  later stationed in Italy so took the Shelby with him.

The Shleby went through several owners in UK and USA, to finally come to its Sydney owner, to be restored by Bosskraft over a 9-month period.

The sale comes with a history file with the original build sheet plus and a De Luxe Marti Report. Sale price is expected to be somewhere in the $150,000-$180,000 range.

Other muscle cars are slightly more affordable, with a 1974 Falcon XB GT automatic sedan, for $70,000-$80,000 and a 1973 Ford XA Falcon 500 Superbird Automatic Coupe ($140,000-$160,000).
